Breaking in

I have a love hate relationship with Provo. I just came in town several days ago to animal sit for a friend of mine who has been taking care of Princess for the past several weeks. Friend and her husband were going on vacation for 10 days and I was going to care for the animals when they were gone.

The first night was the hardest for big goof, Farson. He was not able to sleep without mom and was walking around checking on me several times that night. The kitten and even Princess seemed unsettled. So I was up several times that night.

As things were quieting down, in my half awakened mind, I heard someone playing with the door knob. I thought, "May be it was the animals' tags on their collars." Then I heard both Princess and Farson barking furiously at the window. I instantly rolled out of bed and down the stairs. Looking out the window, I saw nothing. But I knew they saw someone suspicious and someone did attempted to open the door. By then, my heart way pumping and I could feel myself shaking a little bit.

After getting the animals settled and checking all the windows and doors, we went back to bed.

The only other time I had the same experience was in Provo also when my roommate was gone and I was by myself with Princess.

Most people without dogs at home won't even know such activities happened. But with those dogs, you know more than you want.

Knowing Farson and Princess, whomever attempted to break in will shred into pieces. I know I am safe at night. It is just disappointing that people will leave their doors unlocked and attract criminal activities around the neighborhood.

Provo beware, you have been warned.
