Open Office

It has been months since I last wrote. We are back to Colorado and are as happy as we can be. Work has been keeping me extremely busy but it has been fun.

The past couple days was interesting. Due to oversight of the IT department, my team was in emergency mode for the past two days because large sum of money was at stake. And today, we sorted out the issue and spoke with the IT department about it. Later on, in a different occasion, a colleague from a different team dropped by to drop off some document and we got started talking about the continual IT issues. And during that conversation, she mentioned she was observing me while I was dealing with a difficult colleague and she was so impressed by how professional I was even though he was completely rude and disrespectful. In fact, she mentioned people in her team were impressed.

We have an open office so everyone can hear and see what everyone else is seeing or doing. Thinking back, it didn't even cross my mind that someone else was watching me. I was more focus on working with this person and getting the project done and looking forward to never needing to deal with this person again after the project.

It is a little bid encouraging that I might be doing something right.
