Once again, she is under closed supervision; no jumping, no running, limited walking (let's just say no life) until 8 weeks after the surgery. And of course, the price tag is $$$$$ (in Yelp term).
I feel terrible for her. Those surgeries take a lot out of her and I hate to see her go through it again this time on both legs. What if this is more complicated than just a petella luxation? What if... what if....What if...???
At the same time, I will be stretched very thin in jiggling between work and taking care of her post surgery. She will need extensive care and close supervision which is best performed by me.
The good news is, her prior surgeon guarantees the surgery for life. He commented on how unusual the situation is and is more than happy to perform the operation for her if I make it out to Utah.
At this point, it looks like getting her surgery done in Utah is the best option. I can find help there much easier and the price tag is $$ (Yelp term).
Now, if I am able to convince my manager working from home (Utah) for several weeks is good for business (crossing my fingers) and if I can pass my road test prior to flying out (so I can rent a car and drive us to and from the vet), then we will be all set to go spend several weeks in Utah. We will probably spend Christmas there or even New Year. (I know I am asking for more than too much from my manager, I know.) Now, I want to know what you think about this decision. Surely, my decision is very motivated by cost and providing the best care for Princess but at the same time, I want this to have minimal impact on my performance and availability at work. (Advice please?)
I know you are reading this. If you will be so kind to keep us in your prayers, little Princess and I will be forever grateful.
| Thank you for praying for me. |
