We made it to Central Park!

It has been 36 days since Princess landed in NYC and she is adjusting amazingly well to the city. I am so proud of her. Downgrading from lots of green grass, trails, mountainous terrains and nature to the filthy dog park around the corner of my house, she exhibited such courage and adaptability. To help her easy into her new life, the past 5 weekends has been...one word...boring.

We established daily routines as to when we go for walks, the route we would do, the number of times we go around the neighborhood, etc. to give her some stability.( My whole neighborhood is only about 5 blocks up and down the main street, we can walk around the same 5 blocks 4 times in an hour and we have walked around the neighborhood at least 180 times by now!) In fact, may be I am doing the routine thing to give MYSELF some stability, LOL.

She went from hiding under MY bed all day and all night long, acting terrified to sleeping on her own bed snoring very loudly.

With the great weather today, I decided to take Princess on an adventure and we walked from my house to Central Park. It's about 7 miles round trip. We walked across the Queensboro Bridge, through Park Ave, and made it to Central Park. This was her first time being close to lots of green grass and trees and such since she moved to NYC. I was so excited for her.

She took advantage of her time in Central Park. We walked all over and when she saw the man made lake, she jumped right into the murky green water and swam around. The park visitors were taken by surprise. She missed swimming so much! We listened to some saxophone, people watched, (well, I was people watching and she was being watched by people, may be) socialized......

We had a great time and I went home with a very dirty dog 7 miles later.

Those duckies in the pond looks yum.

Mom, can we give him a dollar?
