Surgery check up

About a month ago, Princess was due for her final check up on her knee surgery. The past couple visits weren't that great because the vet told me her knee was still unstable and there might be a chance she needed another surgery. The surgeon that operated on Princess was the best surgeon in town so I was really disappointed by the negative news. Her knee surgery wound was HUGE! I mean, it was much bigger than my knee surgery wound and she isn't even half my size! How can I put her through another surgery? But this time, the vet told me great news, her knee was stabilized and she is free to do whatever!

And that just reminds me of the weeks when she was recovering and the suspicious neighbor who thought I was insane.

So here is a re-post of what happened during her recovery process.

Princess is recovering very quickly. It has only been 10 days but her spirit and appetite are back to normal. Her wound is healing very nicely and she is more concern about everything around her than her leg.

Since she gets tired easily hopping with three legs, I usually carry her down the street to her favorite park so she can walk around the tall grass and do her business. I carry her in my arm between my house and the park at least 4 times a day. It is hard for the neighbors to not wonder why a dog needs to be carried.

Finally, yesterday evening while I had my dog in my arm, my neighbor who is in the marine corp stopped me and TOLD me I was supposed to WALK my dog but not CARRY my dog. I showed him Princess' surgery wound and told him about the surgery and recovery in a matter of fact manner. He was the first brave soul in the neighborhood for coming forward to test my mental soundness.

Now I am going to up my game by getting Princess her doggie stroller just so all the rest of the neighbors can really wonder if their neighbor (me) is mentally sound. On another note, if I get this stroller, Princess can once again go running with me and not have to be home all day! Sounds like a great idea, doesn't it?
