So right before school started, I got invited to go to a hot springs north of Ogden. It is called Crystal Hot Springs at Honeyville, UT and found it to be a great place for half a day family get a way. If anyone is sick of Provo and wants some affordable fun, this could be a great option!

The hot springs is about 40 minutes north of Ogden, right off the freeway exit on Honeyville, UT. Take exit 372 and follow the signs to the entrance. You can park anywhere outside the entrance. Bring your own towel and swimming suit and leave your valuables in the car. The facility only provides shelves for you to put your stuff but no lockers. You can even walk in and out of the place in your robe and flip flops if you want. The great thing about this place is the price! $6 for adult and $4.5 for children and if you go on Monday nights after 4 p.m., it is $12 for a family of 6!!! HOLY COW!!! What a deal!

| This is the cold pool. Don't know who that white kid is. |
The facility itself isn't the most fancy but it has about 5 pools with different temperatures and a cold pool. According to their site, their spring water has the highest mineral content in the world! (Now, how many countries have they looked at? I don't know.) They are fairly slow on weekdays, so you can really have a relaxing experience there. We went on a holiday, so it was quitte crowded. Nevertheless, we stayed for 3 hours! Be sure to bring plenty of liquid to drink so you don't get dehydrated while soaking in the pool. By the end of the day, we ate all our snacks and drank all our soda. And my skin was silky soft afterward.
Like Auntie Lam said, "This is the best kind of exercise! We get to sweat without even moving!" And thanks Uncle Lam for driving us!
Why did we not know about this place earlier in our lives?? That looks way fun and so relaxing.
ReplyDeleteI know. It is probably because neither of us had a car back then. Emily, would you be able to grammar check this for me? I need to submit this blog post as a class assignment.
ReplyDeleteIf you like Crystal Hot Springs, you should also try Lava Hot Springs in Idaho. The water there is very warm, almost too hot to the touch sometimes. It is a little more expensive, but worth the trip if you are going to Idaho anyways, and have some time.
ReplyDeleteSimilar to what Dave said, if you like CHS, you should try the hot springs up Spanish Fork Canyon. It might be called Diamond Fork Springs? It is a great place to see gross, naked, old men. ; )
ReplyDeleteMichael, I will go and take some pictures up Diamond Fork Canyon hot springs so we can both enjoy seeing gross, naked old men! The older the better, right?
